ASSAM NEEDS OUR HELP AND ATTENTION

It's been raining heavily in Assam, Northeast part of India for the past few days.

28 Districts, 3014 villages, nearly 24.50 lakh people are affected with a death toll of 86. Over 100 animals are dead in Kaziranga National park, including 9 one horn rhinos. This year's floods have so far affected over 55 lakh people of the state.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 2,325 villages under 73 revenue circles are still underwater and the floodwaters have submerged 1.09 lakh hectares of croplands. The floodwaters have so far damaged 204 embankments, 168 bridges, culverts and 1637 roads in the state.
